Proposal for a Solution—Public Broadband Internet

Well, folks, the Democratic Party has proved that it is just a toothless, old dog. And the GOP is a pit bull, with no higher moral objective than to rip its opponent's throat out for the thrill of the kill. Ironically, it is the PURPOSE of our government to protect us from the very people who now rule our government with unrestrained power lust!

The Declaration of Independence is one of our most sacred founding documents. Every person who wishes to remain a citizen of these United States should be VERY CLEAR ON THE INTENT OF THIS PASSAGE:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

Anyone who dares to accuse one of being "unpatriotic" for upholding these principles should be revoked of their citizenship and sent elsewhere to find another country.

So how do we organize from here, with corporate interests and narrow political agendas polluting our news sources?

I say we take back our mainstream visual media! But who's got the money to support responsible journalism in a world that's 85% dominated by the "Fair and Balanced" Rupert Murdoch and Clear Channel?

It would be much easier (and less expensive) to go the route of public access broadband internet.

Philadelphia (see political and technical details) has an experiment already in place, where community internet connection is a basic public service, the same as sewers and telephone lines. But the cable and phone companies were so panicked about losing a sliver of their pie that last month they passed legislation to prevent the rest of Pennsylvania from participating in this trial.

MAYBE THEY HAD GOOD REASON TO WORRY. LETS HURRY UP AND PUT PUBLIC ACCESS BROADBAND IN PLACE ALL OVER AMERICA, EVEN IF WE HAVE TO OUTSOURCE THE SERVERS TO CANADIANS, BEFORE QWEST, COMCAST, AND THE LIKE, CHOKE OFF ALL HOPE OF PUBLIC MEDIA WHICH IS NOT FIRST FILTERED THROUGH THEM!!
